The four successors from the COUTIN and RAMOUNET families bring their skills and complementary strengths to continue the development of the CHATEAU VIRANT estate and brand, which has been nurtured by the CHEYLAN family for nearly 50 years.
Located in the heart of the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence region, this historic estate is known for its award- winning wines and renowned olive oils. It has been a symbol of artisanal excellence and respect for the land for several generations.
In 1974, Robert and Noëlle Cheylan took over Château Virant, a vineyard and olive oil estate located near Lançon-Provence. The estate spans over 350 hectares, including 216 hectares of vineyards (under the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation) and 46 hectares of olive trees (AOP d’Aix-en-Provence). As a family-run business, Château Virant offers a wide range of wines—rosé, red, and white—made from grapes grown on the estate, as well as extra virgin olive oil produced at the estate's mill.
Through this acquisition, the new owners are committed to strengthening the local roots of CHATEAU VIRANT, honoring the estate's heritage and historical values. They express a strong desire to incorporate agroecological issues into their core strategy, clearly demonstrating their commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture.
By combining their complementary skills and expertise, Claire, Stéphanie, Philippe, and Laurent aim to energize the activities of the Domaine and establish the CHATEAU VIRANT brand as a true ambassador of Provençal craftsmanship, both in the wine and olive oil sectors. They also seek to enhance its visibility in France and internationally.
The vineyards and olive groves of the estate stand out for their exceptional quality, thanks to a remarkable terroir and a perfect mastery of every aspect of production. This commitment to excellence, continually enhanced by precisely executed modern techniques, ensures high-quality products: distinctive wines and olive oils with authentic aromas. Every step, from cultivation to bottling, is carried out with meticulous attention, guaranteeing consistent quality. Additionally, attentive and personalized customer service plays a significant role in the estate's reputation. Listening to and satisfying customers is an integral part of the identity of CHATEAU VIRANT.
