ADVISO PARTNERS advises the family shareholders of La Rochelle's three star HOTEL LE CHAMPLAIN in its sale (real estate and business) to the TURENNE HOTELLERIE INVESTISSEMENT 2 holding company
12/2019

Pïctured above is the history-steeped building dating from 1854 in which some 71 years ago Anne JOUINEAU's family created one of La Rochelle's first boutique hotels. The three-star Hôtel Le Champlain has 36 rooms and a large garden, right in the heart of the city.

Advised by TURENNE HOTELLERIE, THI 2 is planning to refurbish all of the hotel's rooms over the coming months to reposition LE CHAMPLAIN at the forefront of La Rochelle's hotel market and allow it to capitalise fully on the significant visitor flows to this thousand-year-old city. THI 2 will also take this opportunity to redesign certain areas and build new rooms.

Anne JOUINEAU: "In deciding this year - alongside my parents - to sell our family-owned hotel, I chose the team from TURENNE HOTELLERIE, who are capable of preserving this beautiful, historic La Rochelle establishment - an emblematic part of the city's heritage - while supporting LE CHAMPLAIN's staff, for whose commitment I am very grateful. I am delighted with this sale, which was carried out with Alexis de Maisonneuve and his team in a spirit of trust."

Alexis de MAISONNEUVE, Head of Investment at TURENNE HOTELLERIE: "We are delighted to be taking on the development of this beautiful, historic, emblematic hotel in La Rochelle and are committed to modernising it while maintaining its character. We would like to thank Anne and her family for the trust they have placed in us. This hotel is our first acquisition in La Rochelle, a dynamic, attractive city with a rich history. This transaction is in step with our investment and advisory strategy targeting emblematic hotels in France's main cities."

Romain MASSIAH, Managing Partner at ADVISO PARTNERS: "I am very happy to have assisted the JOUINEAU family with the sale of this emblematic hotel in La Rochelle. TURENNE HOTELLERIE emerged quickly as the ideal candidate to write a new chapter in LE CHAMPLAIN's history and give fresh impetus to this three-star hotel through an ambitious refurbishment."
