Advised by ADVISO PARTNERS, the Charente-based cooperative UNICOOP has sold Château LAMOTHEBERGERON to French provident fund CAPSSA in order to refocus on its spirits activities.
As a prominent historic estate under the Haut-Médoc AOC label, Château LAMOTHE-BERGERON is ideally located on the "Route des Châteaux" in the Cussac-Fort-Médoc municipality and boasts a top-quality terroir. The domain spanning a significant 68 hectares produces a premier wine classified as Cru Bourgeois.
Since its acquisition by the Charente-based cooperative UNICOOP in 2009, under the initiative of CEO Laurent MERY and consultant oenologist Hubert de BOUARD, the Château has undertaken a vast programme to upgrade its products and brands.
In 2015, after more than 18 months of restoration work, the 19th century property resumed its role as a strategic commercial asset for the development of wine tourism, thereby offering attractive growth prospects.
CAPSSA aims to secure the vineyard's long-term future and invest in new projects to consolidate the brand's recognition in its domestic market and internationally.
