Backed by UNIGRAINS, BPIFRANCE, and BNP PARIBAS DEVELOPPEMENT, the SGT Group, which specializes in designing and manufacturing PET preforms for both food and non-food applications, as well as HDPE caps, has announced its acquisition of AXIUM PACKAGING.
AXIUM Packaging has established itself as a significant player in the design and manufacturing of PET and R- PET plastic packaging for the food industry and consumer health, hygiene, and beauty products over the past 55 years. The AXIUM Group's product range includes bottles, caps, and containers. With a workforce of 385 employees, AXIUM Packaging operates across six production sites: three in France, one in Germany, one in Italy, and one in the Czech Republic. In 2024, the company achieved a revenue of over €76 million.
Founded in 1981, the SGT Group has established itself as a leading player in France (#3) and Algeria (#1) in the design and manufacturing of PET preforms for both food and non-food applications, as well as HDPE caps. With over 550 employees and nearly €300 million in revenue, SGT offers the widest range of products in its market, featuring more than 300 preforms for bottle production, ranging from 125ml to 20L. The company is backed by recognized technical expertise and a strong capability for industrial adaptability and innovation.
This acquisition is part of SGT Group's development strategy, which focuses on both organic growth and external expansion. By integrating AXIUM PACKAGING, SGT is able to strengthen its presence across Europe and enhance its range of standard and specialized packaging solutions, particularly in the health and hygiene sectors.
SGT strengthens its position in Europe with this acquisition, bringing its total to 935 employees across 14 production sites and a consolidated revenue of nearly €400 million.
